Minority Research Grant Program (MRGP)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Office of Minority Health’s (CMS OMH) Minority Research Grant Program (MRGP) has released a notice of funding opportunity for researchers at minority-serving institutions (MSIs). The funding opportunity supports researchers at MSIs who are investigating or addressing health care disparities affecting racial and ethnic minority populations, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons; persons with disabilities; persons who live in rural areas; and persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty or inequality. CMS can award 3 grants of up to $333,000 each to eligible institutions.
Eligible MSIs include:
  • Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)
  • Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs)
  • Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs)
  • Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs)
Applications for this opportunity are due on July 28, 2022, at 3 p.m. ET.
