Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Conference

Event Description: 

The Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Conference is ADvancing States’ national conference that annually brings together state, federal, and local policymakers as well as leaders who administer, manage, and deliver waiver and other HCBS programs.  The purpose of the HCBS Conference is to share practices and policies that improve state systems delivering long-term services and supports (LTSS) for all ages and abilities.

The 2022 HCBS Conference will be held August 14-18, 2022 in Washington, DC. 

Strengthening Service Delivery through Trauma-Informed Care Training

Event Description: 
Over a full lifetime many individuals may experience traumatic events. Trauma-informed care is a critical approach to engaging with individuals that recognizes and responds to the impact and risk of trauma. Having a workforce that is trained on trauma-informed care can help diminish the potential for triggers and improve both quality of care and quality of life. Program leaders from Texas Health and Human Services will describe a three-part training series on person-centered, trauma-informed care for Texas’ aging service providers.

A New Standard of Innovation: Findings from the I&R/A Technology Survey

Join the National I&R Support Center for a webinar on A New Standard of Innovation: Findings from the I&R/A Technology Survey. ADvancing States’ I&R Support Center conducted a national survey of aging and disabilities Information & Referral/Assistance programs during the spring to learn about technology use and trends in the I&R/A field reflecting developments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as longer-term developments.

Community Resource Specialists in Aging/Disabilities (CRS-A/D) Training Webinar

Event Description: 
The National Information and Referral Support Center invites aging and disability professionals to join us for a webinar-based training for Information and Referral/Assistance (I&R/A) specialists in aging and disabilities. This training will provide an overview of key competencies needed for aging and disability I&R/A professionals and will provide preparation for the AIRS Certification exam for Community Resource Specialists in Aging/Disabilities (CRS-A/D).
