Biden-Harris Administration Partners with States to Address Homelessness

Prevalence of Disabilities and Health Care Access by Disability Status and Type Among Adults — United States, 2016

The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is an ongoing state-based, random-digit-dialed telephone survey of noninstitutionalized U.S. adults. The 2016 BRFSS survey included questions about six disability types; hearing, vision, cognition, mobility, self-care, and independent living. One in four (61 million) U.S. adults reported a disability. Disability-specific disparities in health care access were prevalent, particularly among young and middle-aged adults.

Report to the President 2017 America’s Direct Support Workforce Crisis: Effects on People with Intellectual Disabilities, Families, Communities and the U.S. Economy

This report describes the current state of the direct support professionals (DSP) workforce as a crisis. DSPs promote participation in the U.S. economy, and yet the average DSP wage is $10.72, most work two or three jobs, and the average annual DSP turnover rate is 45%. This report explores how these issues affect individuals, families, and human services systems; the factors that contribute to these issues; and promising practices to strengthen the direct support workforce.

2017 Annual Disability Statistics Compendium and Report

The Institute on Disability has released the latest Annual Disability Statistics Compendium and Report. The Compendium includes many tables of data, including state and national values and trends over time. The Annual Report highlights state and trend data, and complements the detailed tables available in the Compendium & Supplement. The Annual Report includes maps to highlight the variability in disability rates by state, and each map is related to a specific table from the Compendium.

Provider Profiles and Performance Reports

The following is a list of agencies that are reviewed by New York's OPWDD's Division of Quality Improvement (DQI). In the reports section, each agency will have a listing of the services it provides. However, performance information will only be available for those agencies that provide Medicaid Service Coordination services, and/or agencies whose certified programs have had a Safety and Physical Plant Review completed since October 2014.

This annual report from Cornell University provides a summary of the most recent demographic and economic statistics on the non-institutionalized population with disabilities. The report includes information about the population size and disability prevalence for various demographic subpopulations.
