Assertive Community Treatment Implementation Resource Kit for Program Leaderst

Paper developed by SAMHSA/RWJ grantee for the evidence-based practices project. Paper is directed at Mental Health program leaders and discusses assertive community treatment. Assertive community treatment (ACT) started when a group of mental health professionals recognized that many people with severe mental illnesses were being discharged from inpatient care in stable condition only to be readmitted relatively soon thereafter.

Evidence Based Practice-Six at a Glance

SAMHSA newsletter article describing briefly six evidence-based practices that are effective for persons who experience mental illness and which are the focus of SAMHSA's national project on evidence-based practices. Evidence-Based Practices-Promoting Recovery With Proven Solutions

SAMHSA's Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) is currently sponsoring a national project to promote the widespread adoption of six evidence-based practices (EBPs)—treatments that have consistently proven to generate positive outcomes for adults with serious mental illness. Specifically, project teams are working to develop, test, revise, and disseminate comprehensive resource toolkits that will enable practitioners to replicate EBPs successfully and reap the benefits in community settings.

This website provides accessible and comprehensive tools and information to grantees who provide services that help individuals with disabilities find and keep good jobs. The resources help grantees widen the array and integration of services available at One-stop centers.
