On January 5, the Community Care Corps released its 2026 Request for Proposals. Projects funded through this initiative will increase the number of community-based volunteer programs available to provide nonmedical assistance to older adults, adults age 18 and older with disabilities, and family caregivers to ensure these populations can maintain independence in their communities. Created through a cooperative agreement with the Administration for Community Living (ACL), Community Care Corps is managed by the Oasis Institute in partnership with USAging, Caregiver Action Network, and Altarum.

Community Care Corps encourages organizations across the country to apply for 18-month grants, ranging from $30,000 to $200,000. Eligible applicants include aging and disability service providers, tribal entities, nonprofit community organizations, health systems, local governments, volunteer agencies, and institutions of higher education. Applicants must be able to meet a 25% match requirement.

Funded programs must use trained volunteers to provide nonmedical assistance in home or community settings to assist family caregivers, older adults, and adults with disabilities to maintain independence. Programs must also include one or more of these focus areas:

  • Integrate principles of the National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers
  • Support grandparent/kinship-led households
  • Use off-the-shelf materials (products, components, or resources that are readily available for purchase and immediate use, without the need for custom development, modification, or special ordering)
  • Engage college students/interns for intergenerational connections
  • Expand virtual or low-tech access
  • Provide volunteer chaperone programs for non-emergency medical appointments
  • Increase access to respite programs
  • Build opportunities for volunteer skill-building

The application portal is now open. Community Care Corps will hold an informational webinar on Wednesday, January 14, at 2:00 p.m. Click here to join the webinar.
