Trust for America’s Health, in partnership with the Education Development Center and the National Alliance for Caregiving, has released a new toolkit for preventing elder mistreatment using a public health approach.
The toolkit provides an overview of elder mistreatment and discusses how public health practitioners can play a key role in preventing and addressing elder mistreatment. It also features a section detailing the importance of supporting caregivers as an elder mistreatment prevention strategy.
As part of the monthly Age-Friendly Public Health Systems training series, Trust for America’s Health will hold a webinar highlighting the new toolkit. This training will emphasize the many roles public health professionals can play in preventing elder mistreatment through collaboration with community partners within and outside of the aging network.
