Caregivers’ Perspectives on Technology Solutions

Article Publication Date
Summary
Elevance Health’s Public Policy Institute recently released a brief exploring how technology can support unpaid caregivers of people enrolled in Medicaid.

Based on a survey of more than 2,000 unpaid caregivers, the study examines experiences with remote caregiving tools, environmental controls, medication dispensers, wearable technology, and induction stovetops. Nearly all caregivers who used these technologies reported a positive impact on at least one aspect of their well-being, such as reduced anxiety. The findings point to opportunities for Medicaid programs to improve access to technology solutions that can support caregivers and the people with disabilities and older adults they care for.
