The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) recently released a new issue brief highlighting demographic characteristics of Medicaid beneficiaries enrolled in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
PACE is a fully integrated care model that provides Medicare and Medicaid services to individuals age 55 or older who meet a nursing facility level of care and can live safely in the community at the time of enrollment. Despite steady growth in enrollment, publicly available data on PACE participants remain limited beyond monthly reporting of enrollment totals by organization and state. MACPAC staff examined federal data sources to determine the demographic composition of PACE enrollees nationwide.
