USAging, in partnership with the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies, recently released a new brief exploring findings from Area Agency on Aging (AAA) focus groups.
With 94 percent of AAAs reporting major affordable housing shortages in their service areas, many AAAs are now providing housing navigation services to help older adults find or maintain safe housing.
This brief highlights AAAs’ promising practices across four key areas: information and referral, assessments and navigation, eviction prevention, and home safety and accessibility. The brief also features actionable strategies, such as tiered support models and cross-system partnerships, to help AAAs manage caseloads and prevent housing crises.
