The Jewish Federations of North Americas has released "Changing States’ Approach to Aging Services: A Guide on the Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed (PCTI) Approach for State Units on Aging," developed by the National Aging & Trauma Workgroup of the Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care.
This resource offers a user-friendly overview of the intersectionality of trauma and aging, concrete strategies and tangible action steps to infuse PCTI care and support into SUA culture, and an abundance of resources to get started. This resource was created to help state units on aging adopt the PCTI approach to support older adults, family caregivers, and colleagues, deepen the understanding of ageism and trauma among older adults, and implement training tools and pathways to partnerships that elevate aging services across individual, organizational, and systemic levels.
