The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) published a report that examines the way health plans are handling parity for mental health treatment. NAMI conducted an online survey in 2015 with the main question being, "What do insurance beneficiaries experience when they seek mental health care?" Additionally, the report offers several recommendations regarding network adequacy, plan transparency, and covering out-of-network costs.

Final Regulation on Mental Health Parity in Medicaid: NAMD Summary

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a final rule in April 2016, that implements mental health parity in Medicaid, a requirement of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA). The National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD) published a comprehensive summary of the final rule.

The United States of Aging Survey 2015

The National Area Agencies on Aging (n4a), the National Council on Aging (NCOA), and UnitedHealthcare released a survey that collected data through telephone interviews from 1,650 older adults and influencers on aging.The survey posed opinion based questions about the process of aging. The results reflect that 86 percent of respondents felt prepared for aging; however, 40 percent were most concerned about maintaining physical health and over 30 percent worried about mental health and memory.
