Older Workers in Direct Care: A Labor Force Expansion Study

Research findings show that older workers are interested in direct care jobs and that long-term care employers view older workers as being able to provide better quality care - presenting one potential solution to a workforce shortage. This study was the first to explore the feasibility of engaging older workers. Telephone interviews were conducted with almost 700 lower-income job seekers in the seven states. These findings show a real potential for hiring older persons as frontline workers.

Reportable Events Policy & Procedures: Maryland

Maryland has developed this policy guide which describes the process, monitoring, reporting and oversight of Reportable Events for the Autism Waiver, Living at Home Waiver and Older Adults Waiver and also includes a flowchart and a Reportable Events Form. The purpose of this policy is to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of participants in the Home and Community-Based Services waivers by formalizing a process to identify, report, and resolve Reportable Events (ie., incidents or complaints).

Maryland Access Point (ADRC) Marketing and Outreach Plan

This draft marketing plan from the Maryland Access Point (MAP), the ADRC program in Maryland, primarily addresses the marketing of the web-based information system in development. Maryland Access Point (ADRC) Advisory Board and Sub-committee Job Descriptions

The role of the Maryland Access Point (MAP) Advisory Board is to guide the design and operations of the Resource Center. MAP developed the attached job descriptions to assist board members in carrying out their roles efficiently. The board is composed of individuals representing all populations served by the program, including individuals who have a disability or a chronic condition and public, private, and government agencies that provide services to individuals served by the program.
