What Older Americans Need to Know About Taking Paxlovid

Paxlovid is an antiviral treatment for people with mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms at high risk of becoming seriously ill, including adults 65 and up. It is important for older adults to consider a treatment plan before becoming infected, as Paxlovid could have complications with other drugs and should be evaluated by a medical provider. This article provides more information about Paxlovid and suggests ways older adults can prepare a treatment plan in advance of catching the new COVID-19 variant.

Involving People with Lived Experience in Complex Care Research

Through support from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, CHCS has published a Patient-Centered Complex Care Research Agenda to help involve people with lived experiences with complex care in the research process. The Better Care Playbook spoke to two individuals who helped develop the Research Agenda to learn how involving people with lived experience in research can help strengthen the complex care evidence base.

Housing and Services Resource Center

The Housing and Services Resource Center was created for people who work in the space of housing resources and homelessness services, behavioral and mental health services, independent living services and other supportive services. The Center is part of a partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to expand affordable housing, improve home and community-based services, and address bias in America's long-term care system.
