The University of Michigan Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation has published new National and Michigan findings from the National Poll on Healthy Aging. The National Poll found gaps in planning and preparedness for long-term care among people age 50 and older. Key findings include: 48% of older adults say they do not know how to plan for their long-term care needs and 62% of adults age 50 and older mistakenly think Medicare will pay for their care if they need to permanently move into a nursing home.
