Program Integrity

Program Integrity

Program integrity activities ensure that federal and state taxpayer dollars are spent appropriately on delivering quality, necessary care and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse from taking place. Program integrity initiatives are essential to preventing, detecting, and responding to instances of fraud, waste, and abuse.

Ensuring program integrity in home and community-based services (HCBS) programs—including Medicaid HCBS, Older Americans Act (OAA) services, and other aging and disability programs—is essential to safeguard critical services as programs grow and evolve.

ADvancing States has partnered with the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS) and the National Association of Medicaid Directors to create resources explaining the value of Medicaid HCBS and highlight promising strategies for ensuring program integrity.
