The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Deputy Director for the Division of Aging and Adult Services. This position is responsible for the management of aging programs within the NC Division of Aging. Programs within this portfolio include the NC State Long-Term Ombudsman program, the Emergency Solutions Grant and Targeting and Keys programs, housing and home improvement, elder rights, adult day services, transportation, in home aid, senior nutrition, caregiver support, dementia and Alzheimer's support, and other programs that ensure older Americans and individuals with disabilities have the tools and resources needed to live a safe and productive life. The position is also responsible for planning, directing, supervising and managing all aspects of these programs, ensuring that operations are consistent with State and Federal regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in an area specific to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in the area of assignment, including three years in a supervisory or consultative capacity;
- or Bachelor's degree in an area specific to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and seven years of experience in the area of assignment, including three years in a supervisory or consultative capacity;
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
