The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is seeking applications for the Lead, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), within its Center for Economic Well-Being.

This position will provide technical assistance, capacity building, and policy expertise to strengthen access to SNAP and other nutrition assistance programs for older adults. The position will serve as a subject matter expert and work with states, grantees, community partners, and NCOA staff to advance strategies that improve access to nutrition benefits.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical assistance, training, and resources to MIPPA and SNAP grantees, state leaders, and community partners.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on SNAP and nutrition assistance policy and program implementation.
  • Monitor federal and state policy developments and share relevant guidance and promising practices.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop strategies that connect low-income older adults with nutrition benefits and programs.
  • Develop resources, reports, presentations, and other materials to support SNAP implementation and share lessons learned.
  • Support grant proposal development and reporting.

Qualifications include:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s or professional degree is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of related experience, including familiarity with SNAP, nutrition policy, public benefits, and economic security.
  • Knowledge of aging issues and the impact of economic insecurity on older adults.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
