2026 Shared Care Network Meeting: Strategies to Improve Shared Care Between Family Caregivers and Direct Care Workers

The Johns Hopkins University Hopkins Economics of Alzheimer’s Disease & Services Center (HEADS) will hold the 2026 Shared Care Network Meeting. This annual event seeks to enhance communication between family caregivers and direct care workers for better patient outcomes.

The event will be offered in a hybrid format, both in-person in Washington, D.C., and on Zoom. Featured speakers include individuals from Caregiver Action Network, PHI, the National Alliance for Caregivers, PHI, and the Gerontological Society of America. Session topics include:

  • What is Shared Care? Defining Shared Care Across Populations and Exploring Coordination Models Across the Lifespan
  • Evidence-Based Models that Work – Highlighting Effective Interventions that Support Collaboration Between Family and Direct Care Workers
  • Workforce Innovations and Challenges – Exploring Paid Caregiver Realities, Family as Paid Caregivers and Workforce Equity
  • Shared Care in the Policy Landscape – Discussion on Medicaid, Medicare, and Other Policies Impacting Caregiver Support and Shared Care
