ADvancing States Submits Comments on Healthy People 2030

ADvancing States has submitted a comment letter on the development of Healthy People 2030 objectives. Healthy People is a national public health initiative led by the United States Department of Health and Human Services that establishes broad, national goals for improving the health of all Americans. In our comments, ADvancing States encouraged HHS to expand emphasis on increasing flu vaccination rates for older adults, including those who are institutionalized, as well as service providers in institutions; to establish a measure focused on deinstitutionalization of older adults; to focus on early detection of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia, including for individuals under age 66; to emphasize falls prevention and expand available interventions; and to include an objective seeking to protect the rights of adults in guardianship arrangements.
