Medicaid Spousal Impoverishment Standards for 2008  Effective January 1, 2008, the Medicaid spousal impoverishment standards will be as follows:  Minimum Community Spouse Resource Standard  -  $20,880.00  Maximum Community Spouse Resource Standard  -  $104,400.00  Maximum Monthly Maintenance Standard        -  $2,610.00  The minimum monthly maintenance standard remains $1,711.25 until July 1, 2008.  The 2008 standards are based on an increase in the CPI (all urban consumers) of 74.0 percent between September 1988 and September 2007.  CPIU September 1988  -  119.8 CPIU September 2007  -  208.5 Percent Increase   -     74.0  The annual CPI increase from September 2006 to September 2007 was 2.8 percent.
