On January 28, 2019 CMS released a revised application and technical guide for Medicaid 1915(c) waivers. As a reminder, 1915(c) waivers are the most common way that state Medicaid agencies provide home-and community based services to older adults and people with disabilities. Although the update does not include many significant changes to the waiver application, there are several notable additions and modifications including:
- CMS requests information on whether the state administers any quality of life/quality of care surveys of waiver participants, such as the NCI or NCI-AD surveys; and
- CMS updates several sections to reflect recent guidance and policy developments, including the sections on public input and self-direction.
